Innovative publications, education and internationally attended salons brought like-minded American and European designers together throughout the 1950’s and 1960’s and resulted in a great deal of cross-pollination. For example, architect Albert Frey found a stimulating mentor and friend in Le Corbusier, with whom he maintained a dialogue about modern forms and theory long after settling in California.

California native Milo Baughman had, by the age of thirty, designed for firms across the country and written prolifically about the state of modern design. His work for Glenn of California is primarily created from native hardwoods with sensitivity for the smaller post-war home and its owner, looking for stylishly affordable interior solutions.
