| Richard Neutra's "Camel" table |
Richard Neutra, the Austrian architect whose work is among the best of the modern movement designed the Camel table, illustrated here, for his own home. His lean, open residences perfectly captured the indoor/outdoor way of life that he enjoyed in Los Angeles, and his furniture perfectly complemented his architecture.

Architectural Pottery in front of an Evelyn Ackerman wall hanging |
The internationally acclaimed design duo Charles and Ray Eames anchored the creation of the Los Angeles style through tireless experimentation, energetic promotion and a line of extremely successful furniture. Seen here, their classic "DCM" ("Dining Chair Metal") is used in an abstractly whimsical configuration created for the famed Herman Miller annual picnic.
The timelessly elegant Architectural Pottery planters are the consummate solution for bridging the gap between the verdant California flora and the glass-walled modern homes of the era. Ubiquitously seen in Julius Shulmans celebrated images of the Case Study Houses, these bisque fired pieces are primarily designed by artists La Gardo Tackett, John Follis and Malcolm Leland.
