In June of 2003, R 20th Century introduced a collection of California Design to the international community at the XXe Siècle Fair in Paris. This was the first known exhibition of California design in France. Held at the Carrousel du Louvre, the fair invited 65 design galleries to exhibit important 20th century pieces to an estimated 25,000 visitors.
Working with designer Claudia Dias, R 20th Century created an exhibition inspired by the furniture, accessories, graphics and images of Los Angeles between 1945-1960.

During the mid 20th century, a unique concentration of designers in California, primarily in the Los Angeles area, produced many of the pieces that became icons of "good design" and helped define the American style. Attracted by the lush climate and the booming post-war industries, this group of designers found Southern California to be an ideal environment from which to launch the modern movement.
