Over the past 40 years, Hollis Jones exploration of acrylics and metal has attracted international recognition and garnered numerous awards. In the early 1970s, his "Edison Lamp," made of Lucite and metal and using Edison bulbs, won an award in the California Design 11 competition, won the certificate of "Brilliance in Design" from the German Government, and was placed in the former Pasadena Museum of Modern Art (now the Norton Simon Museum) along with his folding tables and étagère. In 1976, Hollis Jones received an award from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for his "Metric Line" tables. In 1992, he accepted the Carl Beam Sculpture Award from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
